             We have posted two of California’s most unused solar laws in the civil code. The Solar Rights Act ( Ca. Civil Code 714) will assist you in working with your local home owners association and local building department. Many of them are aware of the law but choose to ignore it.

           The other more misunderstood act is the “Solar Easement Act (Ca. Civil Code 801)” This code addresses shade caused after the solar system is installed. We recommend that you have a certified arborist benchmark the elevation of any plants that may shade your solar equipment.
